ASNV Advocacy Efforts

Volunteers Needed for Plant Rescue:  Audubon at Home is embarking on a major activity that will succeed only with the help of many volunteers: a plant rescue along the Route 495 corridor preceding construction of the new HOT Lanes.

ASNV is partnering with Lands and Waters, which is spear-heading this effort, to place rescued plants at our Audubon at Home demonstration sites and other locations.  In exchange for labor, volunteers are welcome to take plants to place in their yards.

Construction begins this summer and staging sites are already being cleared.  The sites we have been to so far are so full of plants we could not possibly get them all out. There is enough work for everyone.  This project will continue for several months.

Volunteers, aged 18 and over, are encouraged to contact ASNV's Naturalist Elaine Franklin at elaine@audubonva.org about assisting with this project.
